The Detroit Red Wings are overseas, getting ready to kick off the NHL Global Series. It’s a tremendous opportunity in itself, but they have had plenty of time off as they get ready to hit the ice for two games in Sweden.

The Detroit Red Wings kick off their two-game slate overseas with a rematch against the Ottawa Senators. Detroit clashed with Ottawa earlier this season, defeating them in a 5-2 victory, and Alex DeBrincat got revenge against his old team.

The Red Wings had a good chance to press the reset button during their time off, so now it’s time to see how things go when the team hits the ice again. Detroit has a long road ahead of them, but these two games are a nice way to break up the season a bit.

It allows the Red Wings to do a couple of things. They get to take part in the festivities overseas, and plenty of Swedes on the Red Wings roster are getting the chance to play in front of friends and family for the first time. It might even be a bit of a boost for players like Lucas Raymond.

Detroit Red Wings clash with Senators to kick off Global Series.

Detroit’s win over the Senators was their fourth in a row during their early season run. They avoided being pushed around and ultimately made the Senators make bad decisions and play sloppy.

Detroit will have another task ahead as they look to get under Ottawa’s skin again. The Senators have their own issues going on, but they certainly will try to wrinkle the Red Wings’ game plans in this contest.

Detroit needs to come out and prove that they will play physically, and they need to show this early on in the game. Getting a statement goal early and playing with their foot on the gas will prove beneficial.

Game: Detroit Red Wings (8-5-2) vs. Ottawa Senators (6-7-0)

When: Thursday, November 16th

Time: 2:00 PM ET

Where: Ericsson Globe

Where to Watch: Fubo/Sling

Odds: According to DraftKings, the Ottawa Senators are the favorite with a -120 payout on the Moneyline, and Detroit has a +100 payout. The Detroit Red Wings are +1.5 with a -238 payout, and the Senators are -1.5 with a +195 payout. The over/under is set at 6.5. The over has a -130 payout, and the under has a +110 payout.

Prediction: It’s intriguing that the Senators are the favorite. While Ville Husso will not be in Sweden, as he and his wife welcomed a baby girl, the Red Wings still should be expected to come out on top. Even though they have not been playing well lately, I still think Detroit will win this match-up. Detroit has a chance to change the narrative and get the job done.

In terms of betting action, I like Detroit on the Moneyline and the over. Also, Lucas Raymond, anytime goalscorer, seems like a good prop bet to consider. Raymond may have a bit of a boost in front of his hometown crowd.
