Since getting drafted fourth overall by the Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Draft, Lucas Raymond has emerged into one of the brightest young stars in the NHL.
Still just 23 years of age, Raymond already has four full seasons under his belt at the NHL level. He is set to play a pivotal role in the Red Wings' 2025-26 season, and is on the cusp of some impressive milestones that can put the NHL on notice.
Raymond can join impressive Red Wings company with 100th career goal
Raymond has 98 career goals to his name with the Red Wings, and needs just two more to become the 10th player in Red Wings history to score 100 goals before his 24th birthday. The feat would place him within elite company with other Red Wings greats.
Other Detroit players to accomplish this feat include Dylan Larkin, Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, Gordie Howe, Marcel Dionne, Ted Lindsay, Dale McCourt, John Ogrodnick, and Petr Klima. Yzerman is the only player in franchise history to eclipse the 200-goal mark before turning 24.
Raymond is also closing in on another noteworthy career milestone. He needs 46 points to reach the 300-point mark in his career. After totaling 152 points over the last two seasons, this is a number that is also well within reach for this season.
Yet, Raymond was noticeably absent from NHL.com's list of the top 10 forwards under the age of 25 entering the upcoming season. Despite the snub, Raymond has cemented himself was one of the top young forwards in the game, and Red Wings fans have high hopes for the Goteborg, Sweden native in 2025-26.
Red Wings relying on Raymond for big numbers in 2025-26
In four NHL seasons and 320 career games, Raymond has collected 254 points on 98 goals and 156 assists. He's led the Red Wings in points in each of the last two seasons, and is coming off the best season of his career. Raymond set career-bests in points (80), assists (53), power play goals (8), and power play assists (29) last season, while seeing a career-high 18:47 of ice time per game.
Raymond will spend most of the upcoming campaign at 23 years old, as he doesn't turn 24 until March 28, 2026. Red Wings are elated with what they have seen from him so far in Hockeytown, and can't wait to see what he has in store for 2025-26.
