The Detroit Red Wings came home from Montreal with two points, and Alex DeBrincat came home with a milestone of his own. The Red Wings forward was able to tally a big-time goal during the contest, making some history on the career mark.

The goal came in the second period when DeBrincat was able to put the Detroit Red Wings up by a couple of goals, at the time. DeBrincat’s goal left the Red Wings with a two-goal lead, and while they squandered it in the third, it had to be a nice moment for DeBrincat.

DeBrincat’s goal was his 200th career tally. The 25-year-old reached the 200-goal threshold in under 500 games played. He would tally a point later as well on the overtime-winning goal from Jake Walman.

DeBrincat carved out a spot in history with that mark. While he won’t be joining the greats at the top of the leaderboard any time soon, 200 goals is a significant career mark. He’s carved out a remarkable career to this point, and career goal No. 200 is just another accomplishment for the Red Wings forward.

The goal itself was a beauty. It speaks to how DeBrincat has made his money in the NHL. While the tally came on the powerplay, DeBrincat has carved out an excellent career as a sniper with a quick release and a really pretty one-timer.

The Red Wings had a power play during the second period; the team was getting set in the offensive zone, and Moritz Seider made a great play from the point. He sold the PK team that he was going one way and fired it down low to DeBrincat, who fired it home for the goal.

Here’s the goal:

While the goal itself is a beauty and a historic one, it was a nice touch from the hockey gods who had Patrick Kane in the booth with Ken and Mick at this time. Kane was able to talk about the play and, give his insight, and share a few nice comments about his buddy after grabbing career goal no. 200.

The goal was DeBrincat’s 13th on the season, with an assist as well, to give him ten assists. That leaves DeBrincat with 23 points in just as many games as the Red Wings continue roaring on with their season.

Must Read. Expect Patrick Kane to get involved quickly with Red Wings. light

He’s been such a great addition, and it’s got to be nice to have DeBrincat in the Red Wings locker room, knowing he will be around moving forward. Even better, it’s got to be nice to know Patrick Kane is also on the way soon after his recent signing.
