The Detroit Red Wings are ready to take on the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night. The team is slated to get forward Robby Fabbri back from injury after he suffered a torn ACL during the 2021-22 season.

It was a long road to recovery, and after a ton of hard work and time away from the team, Fabbri had finally been given the all-clear to resume practicing with the team for a return as of late. Amid the roster conundrum, Fabbri’s return is something to be excited about as the team continues to juggle its players.

The forward adds some much-needed reinforcement to the team’s forward core as the Red Wings continue with their season and look to stay in the hunt for a postseason berth. The Red Wings expect Fabbri to make his season debut against the Devils.

Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde noted that Fabbri is part of the 12 forwards who will take the ice against New Jersey. He also divulged that Fabbri is set to take the ice alongside Pius Suter and Oskar Sundqvist on a line together.

Detroit Red Wings expected to get Robby Fabbri back on Wednesday.

While many are anticipating the 2 PM deadline for waivers to see what happens with forward Jakub Vrana, at least the team can look forward to getting one of their best-producing forwards back on the ice.

Fabbri has been with the Red Wings since being acquired during the 2019-20 season. The change of scenery from St. Louis to Detroit truly reinvigorated his career. He earned a three-year contract extension from Steve Yzerman and has continued to show how he can bring value to the team.

Injuries have been troublesome, but he is again healthy and looking to return to the ice and be a valuable piece of the puzzle. Before the injury in 2021-22, Fabbri continued to find the back of the net and put up points.

He scored 17 goals and added 13 assists for 30 total points over 56 games played. He certainly adds a boost to the offense with his ability to find the back of the net, and he will also add a nice boost of life to the team’s power play.

As the Red Wings continue with their season, it will be great to see the no.14 jersey back on the ice. Fabbri’s healthy again and ready for his return to the lineup.
