Detroit Red Wings Injury Updates
After suffering a ACL injury this past season, Red Wings forward, Robby Fabbri is back on the ice.
The Red Wings signed forward, Robby Fabbri to an extension this past season. The contract was a symbol to his commitment not just to the team, but to the process. Last season, it started off very good, but didn’t finish that way. And considering Fabbri’s past, where he stood with the organization was in question. But after some internal discussions, the Red Wings and Fabbri agreed to a three-year extension.
Fabbri is an incredibly gifted skater with some very good offensive talent. However, what he has in offensive talent, he doesn’t necessarily have in defensive talent. But, he was showing signs to improve that aspect of his game before tearing his ACL this past spring. And after being given a timetable to return in January, well, things have progressed.
Ahead of tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Kings, Ansar Khan of MLive.com tweeted out this picture of Robby Fabbri:
Seeing Robby Fabbri out on the ice skating ahead of practice today is a good sign that the forward could be nearing a return to the ice. Which could help jolst the Red Wings offense even further than it already is.
But, as you all probably know, the world finds a balance and we have figured out what that balance is.
Right after this picture was tweeted, Khan tweeted out that there were two players not on the ice for morning skate today. The one we all probably saw coming- Tyler Bertuzzi. But the surprise one was Jakub Vrana.
After Bertuzzi left the game against the Devils on Saturday, it was assumed by the public that he was probably going to be out for a couple games. But we found out today from Derek Lalonde that Bertuzzi will be out for 4-6 weeks while he recovers from his upper-body injury. However, there was another surprising name that didn’t skate this morning- Jakub Vrana.
It was reported by Ansar Khan again that Vrana will be out of tonight’s lineup due to personal reasons. Hopefully everything is okay with him, but for now, we’ll have to be without both forwards.
