Filip Zadina Stays and Gets a Long-Term Extension
The Red Wings seem to be at in impasse with Filip Zadina. Unsure exactly what the future holds for him, the Red Wings fan base and organization seems set on trading him. However, that is nothing but a rumor. We truly don’t have much validation on the matter. And let’s not forget that the Red Wings haven’t exactly done good by Zadina. So, is he truly gone? I don’t think so.
This off-season will be busy, but there will undoubtedly be some familiar faces returning and Filip Zadina could be one of those. Furthermore, it could be on a nice looking contract too.
Zadina has shown signs of becoming the player we have all expected him to be but he hasn’t shown it consistently and that has been the problem. But, that could be the reason why you sign him- he’d be cheap since he hasn’t really made a big move in the league.
A contract extension for Zadina could be relatively cheap and lock him up for the future. Additionally, if they sign him to said extension, him being under contract for multiple years could be the very thing that gets teams interested.
