Justin Abdelkader became an offensive weapon for Detroit mainly because he played on one of the top two lines.  In 2015-16, Abdelkader scored 42 points in 82 games.  This was Abdelkader’s last season with decent offensive numbers.  Detroit bought out the last three year’s of Abdelkader’s contract after posting only three assists in 49 games in 2019-20.  Abdelkader recently played for EV Zug (NL) and represented the USA at the World Championships, acting as captain and scoring one point in six games.

Tomas Tatar was 4th in scoring for the 2015-16 Red Wings.  He scored 45 points in 81 games.  He played parts of two more seasons in Detroit before being traded to Vegas for several draft picks.  The 1st round pick was used to select rookie center Joe Veleno who will be pushing for a full-time spot on the Red Wings this year.  Tatar recently signed a two-year UFA contract with New Jersey.

Luke Glendening played right wing in his early years in Detroit.  In 2015-16, Glendening scored 21 points in 81 games.  Now one of the best faceoff centers in the league, Glendening recently signed a two-year UFA contract with Dallas.

Teemu Pulkkinen split most of his NHL career between the AHL and NHL.  In 2015-16, Pulkkinen scored 12 points in 36 games.  Now 29, he has played the last four seasons in the KHL and will remain in the KHL again next year.

Tomas Jurco played 44 games with Detroit in 2015-16.  He scored six points in a limited fourth line role on right wing.  He is currently a free agent and played eight games with Vegas last year.
