The halfway mark of July is almost upon us and the Detroit Red Wings appear to be still considering a possible edition to the team via free agency.
Thomas Vanek appears to be still in contact with the Wings and the forward is willing to return to the Motor City. He would be a great addition to the roster after putting in great work during his brief stint with the team in the 2016-17 regular season. Read more here.

The Detroit Free Press released a two-part series that ranks the top-20 current pro athletes in Detroit.
Henrik Zetterberg was the highest ranked Red Wings player at no.8. Other Wings players included were Anthony Mantha and Dylan Larkin.

Boards are now being installed in Little Caesars Arena as the new facility is set to open for the Red Wings 2017-18 season.

The Toledo Walleye, the Red Wings ECHL affiliate, will be hosting the 2019 ECHL All-Star Game. More details are available about the event here.

Two Red Wings players were listed on NHL.com’s fantasy hockey top rookies to watch for in the 2017-18 season. Defenseman Joe Hicketts and goaltender Jared Coreau were both honorable mentions and were the only Red Wings representatives on the list.
