The Detroit Red Wings new arena will have a very interesting aerial view of a giant Little Caesar, which is the mascot for everyone’s favorite pizza chain, Little Caesars.

So, what is this aerial view I am talking about? Well if you haven’t seen it yet, on Tuesday, the Little Caesars Arena Twitter account posted this picture.

As one can see, this is indeed a large Little Caesar. Now, as you can imagine, this didn’t go quite go over very well with fans. Especially since it originally appeared a giant winged wheel would don the roof of the arena.

Granted, the arena will now be shared with the Detroit Pistons, but it still would have looked super cool to have the Red Wings logo atop the arena.

The arena name itself took on some criticism as many wanted it to be named Gordie Howe Arena, among other possible names. Additionally, hockey fans from around the world took a shot at the name of the arena.

But now we are left with the giant Little Caesar that can be seen from space (not sure if that’s actually true, probably not true). Anyways, people love pizza, and Little Caesar’s sells pizza so in some aspects this a win. Mainly because now the arena won’t seem like it’s solely dedicated to one team and let’s be honest pizza is always winning.

In case they ever want to change the logo on the top, the internet provided some awesome backup plans.

On a serious note, it would have been cool to see some type of design go up that put both the Red Wings and Pistons logos together. Or at least something that incorporated the City of Detroit. But we are left with a pizza mascot, so this probably doesn’t look very good at the end of the day. However, it is a business at the end of the day as well.
