The Boston Bruins always have "Spirited" bouts when playing the Red Wings.

The Boston Bruins have always been a team that would get under your skin.

Whether it be the physicality, Cheap shots, or "Rat" behavior, they have always been a thorn in the side of all 32 NHL teams. Then again, when you have the "King Rat" Brad Marchand as a prominent player, he becomes your captain, following players like Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chára. Your team will likely become extensions of those players.

The Bruins seem to be good every year. In fact, since the 1999-2000 season, they have made the playoffs 18 times and finished in the top ten 14 times, including three Presidents Trophies. However, the Detroit Red Wings historically have a .511pts% against the Bruins but split the series last season, going 2-2.

Being "Original Six" teams already gives them a rivalry that not every team can replicate. But as the Red Wings have gotten better year after year, the rivalry between the two teams continues to grow. While the Red Wings may not be cup contenders just yet, the fact that the Boston Bruins have started to see them as a threat proves that the team is going in the right direction.
