Meet The Team
Anthony Ibanez
Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Anthony grew up watching the Red Wings and has been a contributor with Octopus Thrower for nearly a year. He has witnessed three new Red Wings captains but has been alive for four of them. A former defenseman himself, they have a reserved spot in his heart for all eternity, but ironically, his favorite Red Wing of all time is Darren Helm.
Ben Heydt
After gaining a Master's Degree in New Media Journalism, Ben spent a year interning for ECHL Week, covering the league. Hockey has been his passion ever since the first KOHO stick was placed in his palms as a child. Marrying his love for the sport and his love for writing has been a match made in heaven.

Bob Heyrman
Bob had been a Site Expert/editor since 2018, until transitioning to a contributor in 2025 throughout the FanSided network. Bob is also a contributor for 49ers Webzone, part of USA Today Sports. Bob is an avid lifelong sports fan and has written and edited numerous articles across both networks. When Bob isn't writing, he is managing his family farm, which originated in 1926, and running a local business also in the agricultural field. During his down time, he can often be found in gorgeous downtown Detroit dining or taking in one of the many sporting events available.

Kaitlyn Glaza
Kaitlyn Glaza is a FanSided co-site expert and editor at the Octopus Thrower. As an avid Detroit Red Wings fan, Kaitlyn has written many articles about the team and its prospects for both the site as well as her personal blog. Her passion is sharing her experiences and perspectives about the team that she loves with a focus on the Detroit Red Wings prospects. In her free time, she enjoys romping around with her dog, Taro. They enjoy going on adventures as much as possible.

Todd Matthews
Todd Matthews ran Sabre Noise and Raising Zona under the pen name Sion Fawkes between 2022 and 2024 before he switched his full focus to the NHL. A lifelong hockey fan, Todd now covers the entire NHL at FanSided as the Lead Editor and he is always happy to write about the league’s current happenings and its history. When he’s not writing about hockey, Todd is often found working out either in the gym or running on trails. He is a fan of symphonic and power metal, and an avid listener of audiobooks, particularly in the fantasy genre, and he can be reached at todd.matthews@fansided.com.
