The Detroit Red Wings are fresh off of getting pumped 6-2 by the Jets after trying to stay in the win column after back-to-back wins. They are back on the road again, staying in Canada as they’re in Toronto to face off against the Maple Leafs at the Scotiabank Arena.

As the Detroit Red Wings prepare for this contest, they are 4-6-0 in their last ten, and the Maple Leafs are 5-3-2 in their previous ten. Toronto is fresh off of a win against Ottawa and is looking to stay in the win column.

The Red Wings are continuing to work both of their backup netminders into games. With Magnus Hellberg and Alex Nedeljkovic are getting their chances to try and earn the backup role moving forward.

The Tank for Bedard effort is in full swing, even though they will not make it too far up the lottery odds leaderboard. Though, the Red Wings are claiming their attitude is to finish the 2022-23 season on the right foot and play meaningful games, executing well.

Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Maple Leafs

The Red Wings have their work cut out for them once again. They will have to stop the likes of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander, which is no small task. The Maple Leafs can score and create offense, so the Red Wings will have to try and prevent this from happening.

On the bright side of this match-up, forward Marco Kasper may be dressing and making his debut after he was recalled from Rögle BK from the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). That will give fans something to tune in and watch as the Red Wings tune in to games during the home stretch.

Prediction: For the Red Wings, it’s a tough ask to think that they could win this game. There’s some serious chance to win some money if the Red Wings do squeak out a victory. But it’s unlikely. The Maple Leafs offense is tough to halt, and they do an incredible job at scoring and finding ways on the board.

For that reason, I’m staying away from betting on the Red Wings in this one. If you want, bet on Toronto -1.5 because that seems like the best value in this one or the over.
