Detroit Red Wings vs. Blues Game 71 Preview, Prediction, Odds
The Detroit Red Wings snapped their three-game skid against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. After Lucas Raymond scored the game-winner with a beautiful shootout goal, the Red Wings were able to hang on as Magnus Hellberg made the stop to secure the win.
For the Detroit Red Wings, it’s been a rough go as of late. Seeing the team snap the losing streak and do it in the Blues arena was solid for them. Getting back on track is key, and Ville Husso has struggled as of late, but it was good to see Hellberg settle into the blue paint and shine between the pipes.
The Red Wings are looking to sweep the home-and-home with St. Louis and come away with a two-game win streak with 11 games left to play after the home-and-home. The Red Wings should also get Simon Edvinsson back into the lineup.
He took a rough hit on Monday in his NHL debut, missing Tuesday’s contest. However, he practiced Wednesday and looks like he can slot back into the team’s defense core on Thursday against St. Louis.
Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Blues
The Red Wings will look to quiet the Blues once again, keeping the likes of Pavel Buchnevich, Robert Thomas, and Jakub Vrana. After trading Vrana to the Blues, he has settled in nicely, adjusting well and scoring four goals in the last five games.
The Blues come to Little Caesars Arena looking to get back in the win column. The Red Wings are looking to silence the music and pick up their second win in as many games after the shootout victory on Tuesday.

The Blues are the favorite on the Puck Line at +1.5 with a -210 payout. The Red Wings are -1.5 with a +180 payout. The over/under is set at 6.5. The over has a +100 payout. The under is currently the favorite with a -120 payout.
Prediction: With Husso likely to be back in the net for the Detroit Red Wings, there’s reason to expect it to be a high-scoring match-up. Even after sitting for a game, he has had a tough time in the crease as of late. For that reason, I’m taking the over in this one.
In terms of the match-up, the Red Wings were able to keep the Blues from really getting things going. They have a couple of weapons to keep their eye on, but I like the Red Wings on the Moneyline to close out a victory and sweep the home-and-home with the Blues.
