Detroit Red Wings at Coyotes Game 43 Preview, Prediction, Odds
The Detroit Red Wings are set to take on the Coyotes out west in the second game of a three-game road trip. The Red Wings are out in Arizona and getting ready for their second game in as many games out on the road.
After getting stepped on by the Colorado Avalanche for a 6-3 loss on Monday, the Detroit Red Wings are looking for a bounce back. If there’s a time for a bounce-back game, Monday is that time.
The Coyotes are horrendously built; they’re entrenched in a rebuild. They have 2019-20 Red Wings vibes but are even worse. As the Red Wings look to get back on track, this is the opportunity for them to tap back into some of that offense and get back in the win column.
Arizona is on a nine-game losing streak, somehow still being ahead of Chicago in the standings. The Red Wings are 4-6-0 in their last ten games, dropping both of their previous two games. But, even on a road trip with travel out west, there’s got to be hope that the Red Wings can come away with a win on their road trip.
It’s the second of three games out west, but against Arizona, it’s hard not to think the offense will be able to thrive. The defense has had plenty of lapses, and this should be an opportunity to get back on track.
The Red Wings may be performing around the level most expected, but finishing the first half of the 2022-23 season strong would be huge for the team moving forward.
Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Arizona Coyotes

Odds: According to DraftKings, the Detroit Red Wings are the favorite in this contest with a -140 payout on the Moneyline. Arizona is +120 Moneyline. The Coyotes have a -200 payout at +1.5 on the Puck Line, with Detroit being +170 at -1.5 on the Puck Line. The Over/Under has been set at 6.0, even with a -115 payout for the over and a -105 payout for the under.
Prediction: Looking at the odds from above, it feels like a trap game. I expected the line to be even farther in the direction of the Detroit Red Wings, but that is not the case. With Arizona being favored to lose by just one goal (essentially), it makes me even more uncertain.
The odds are very much likely to change before the game, and if the over/under creeps up to 6.5, I like the under. I think the under at 6 is intriguing as well. It feels like Red Wings Moneyline is a good bet for the Red Wings.
The Red Wings have to come out and avoid looking sluggish. Even with a game on back-to-back days, coming out and playing a strong first period will set them up for a good game. The Red Wings have a chance to get back in the win column if they come out and can tap into their offense once again.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
