Preview: COVID-riddled Detroit hosts struggling Devils

The Detroit Red Wings will play host to the struggling New Jersey Devils tonight at LCA.  Detroit is on a one game losing skid after a 5-3 loss to Carolina on Thursday.

The Devils have lost four games in a row and are 2-7-1 in their last 10 games.

This is the first of three meetings between the teams.

Game time tonight is 8:00 PM ET at LCA in Detroit, MI.

COVID-19 continues to ravage Red Wings roster and coaches

Coaches Jeff Blashill and Alex Tanguay have been placed in COVID-19 protocol following positive tests.  Grand Rapids head coach Ben Simon will be behind the bench and will join Grand Rapids assistant coach Todd Krygier and Detroit defense coach Doug Houda for tonight’s game.

Additionally, Alex Nedeljkovic, Givani Smith, and Carter Rowney have tested positive and will join Robby Fabbri and Michael Rasmussen in COVID-19 protocol.

Today, Detroit recalled goaltender Calvin Pickard and forward Riley Barber from Grand Rapids.

Monday’s game in Colorado has been postponed
