The Detroit Red Wings will play host to the Chicago Blackhawks in preseason action tonight at LCA in Detroit.  The rematch between the two original six teams will begin at 7:30 PM ET.

It took a late goal by Bobby Ryan to send the first game into a shootout.  Ryan also provided the game winning goal during the shootout to preserve the 4-3 victory for the Red Wings.

Tyler Bertuzzi Still Recovering

According to Head Coach Jeff Blashill, Tyler Bertuzzi continues to practice but has not yet been cleared to play in a game. According to Blashill, he would love to see Bertuzzi get into a preseason game, but the ultimate goal is to have him ready for game 1 against Tampa Bay next week.

Detroit and Chicago Lineups

Players on the Red Wings Bubble

Taro Hirose needs to continue with his smooth playmaking ability.

Carter Rowney needs to step up and prove that he can play in the top 13 forwards.

Chase Pearson needs to show more offensively in order to get a shot at a fourth line role.

Givani Smith still hasn’t earned a spot on the opening night roster.  He needs to play to his strengths or he could easily be placed on waivers before opening night.

Bobby Ryan needs to have another great game offensively.  He continues to play without a contract.

Joe Veleno played terrific in the 5-1 win against Columbus.  He needs to show that he can play at that high level on a consistent basis.
