The NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City continued Saturday with the Detroit Red Wings losing a hard fought 5-2 battle with St. Louis. The physical game was dominated by the Blues power play as they scored three goals with the man advantage. Lucas Raymond scored both goals for the Red Wings, with one coming on the power play midway through the third period. The loss drops Detroit to 1-1 in the tournament after a 5-4 win over Dallas Thursday night.

St. Louis scored three first period goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Lucas Raymond scored his second goal of the tournament at the 8:47 mark of the period.

St. Louis scored two power play goals in the third period. Lucas Raymond with his second goal of the game and third of the tournament replied for the Red Wings.
Star of the Game
Lucas Raymond was outstanding throughout the game scoring two goals including one goal on the power play in the third period.
Game Notes
Joe Veleno and Chase Pearson were the alternate captains for the Red Wings.
Jonatan Berggren and Patrick Curry were injured in the first period and did not return for the final two periods.
The first power play unit consisted of Veleno, Pearson and Berggren at forward with Raymond and Jared McIsaac on defense. Kirill Tyutyayev filled in admirably for Berggren following his injury. The unit went 1/5 on the power play.
Sebastian Cossa struggled in the first period allowing three goals. He settled down in the second and allowed two more goals in the third. Cossa made 25 saves on the night.
Donovan Sebrango and undrafted Sarnia Sting captain Brayden Guy were involved in a spirited fight.
Jan Bednar was Cossa’s backup in the Detroit goal.
Goaltender Victor Brattstrom did not suit up for Detroit. Other scratches were defenseman Wyatt Newpower and forward Hayden Verbeek.
