The NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City started Thursday, as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Dallas Stars 5-4. Kirill Tyutyayev scored two goals in his first game in North America after playing professionally in Belarus last season. Chase Pearson, Lucas Raymond and Joe Veleno also scored for the Red Wings.

Scoring Summary
1st Period
Detroit took a 1-0 lead when Kirill Tyutyayev scored his first goal of the game.
2nd Period
Detroit scored four goals in the second period and took a 5-1 lead going into the intermission. Chase Pearson, Lucas Raymond, Kirill Tyutyayev with his second, and Joe Veleno scored for Detroit.
3rd Period
Dallas opened the scoring in the third period to cut the Detroit lead to 5-2. Brattstrom lost control of the puck behind the net and Dallas scored again to make the game 5-3. Riley Tufte scored his second goal of the period to narrow the Red Wings lead to 5-4.
Stars of the Game
Victor Brattstrom was the star of the game for Detroit. Although the third period was a bit of a mess, Brattstrom played an overall terrific game, making 31 saves on 35 shots for the Red Wings.
Kirill Tyutyayev had himself a bit of a breakout game, scoring two goals while playing on a line with Chase Pearson and and Cross Hanas.
Jonatan Berggren illustrated his playmaking abilities, with two assists on the top line. He looks like he is ready to make a strong push for a roster spot in Detroit.
Game Notes
Joe Veleno, Chase Pearson, and Wyatt Newpower were the alternate captains for the Red Wings.
The first power play unit consisted of Veleno, Pearson and Berggren at forward with Raymond and Jared McIsaac on defense. The unit went 0/2 on the power play.
Detroit 1st round pick Sebastian Cossa was Brattstrom’s backup in the Detroit goal.
Goaltender Jan Bednar did not suit up for Detroit. Other scratches were defenseman Mason Ward and forward Patrick Curry.
