Pius Suter recently signed a free agent contract with Detroit.  He should be one of the top players invited to play for Switzerland.  He has previously played in numerous international events including the 2018 Olympic Games.

Suter played in his first world tournament when he played in the WJC-18 in 2012-13.  He scored three goals in five games in that championship.

In 2015 and 2016, Suter represented Switzerland in the World Junior Championships.  He scored five goals in 12 games in the two championships.  In the 2016 championships, Suter was selected as a Top 3 Player on Team.

In 2017, Suter played in his first World Championship scoring three points in eight games.

At the Olympics in 2018, Suter scored three goals and five points in four games.

Joren van Pottelbergue remains unsigned property of the Red Wings.  He was drafted by the Red Wings in 2015.  van Pottelbergue has expressed an interest to play for Detroit, but at 24, time is running out for him to move to North America.  He is likely going to be one of the three goaltenders named to the Swiss Olympic team.

Prior to being drafted by Detroit, van Pottelbergue played in the WJC-18.

In 2016 and 2017, van Pottelbergue was the #1 goalie for Switzerland at the World Junior Championships.  He played 11 games and recorded a 3-6 record, 3.16 GAA, and an .899 SV% playing for Switzerland.
