Chris Osgood played 14 of his 17 seasons in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings.  He began playing for Detroit in 1993 and played eight seasons with the Red Wings before playing three seasons for the New York Islanders and St. Louis.

In 2005, Osgood returned to Detroit and played six more years before retiring.  In 17 NHL seasons, Osgood won 401 games and earned 50 shutouts.  During his career, Osgood was a three-time Stanley Cup Champion, and was a Jennings Trophy winner twice, awarded to the goalie with the lowest GA during a season.

On March 6, 1996, Osgood actually scored a goal by shooting the puck into an empty net against the Hartford Whalers.  So far, the Hall of Fame has eluded Osgood, but this contributor believes his statistics make him worthy of such an honor at some point in the near future.
