Jordan Oesterle signed a two year UFA contract to play for his hometown team. The Dearborn Heights, MI native played three seasons at Western Michigan University (NCAA) before signing a free agent contract with Edmonton in 2014.  He played with Danny DeKeyser at Western Michigan for two seasons.  Oesterle played on Team USA at the IIHF World Championships where USA won a bronze medal in 2018.  Jeff Blashill was the head coach and Dylan Larkin also played on that team.  Oesterle is a defensive minded defenseman who has played 252 NHL games over eight seasons with Edmonton, Chicago and Arizona.  He has scored 15 goals and 65 points in his NHL career.  Oesterle will provide depth on the blueline at a reasonable price for Detroit.
