Nick Leddy is a former first round draft choice, 16th overall, for the Minnesota Wild in 2009. He has played 12 seasons in the NHL for Chicago and the New York Islanders. He was acquired from New York for Richard Panik and a 2021 2nd round pick. The left shot defenseman will most likely be paired with Moritz Seider to form the top defensive unit for Detroit. Leddy has one year remaining on his current contract before he can become an UFA.
