Most of the Detroit Red Wings forwards can play multiple forward positions.  Many right wingers on the Detroit roster can also play the left side.  Detroit has recently added skilled forwards in the hope that they can bring scoring to an aging lineup.

Here is a look at the right wingers in the Detroit organization, starting with those within the system:

Jonatan Berggren

2021 Team: Skelleftea (SHL)
Age: 20
GP: 49
G: 12
A: 33
PTS: 45

Jonatan Berggren may have been a steal in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft.  Injuries derailed Berggren for two years after his draft.  He made up for that, with a tremendous season in the SHL and earned a three-year entry-level contract with Detroit.  Depending on roster space, Berggren will either start in Grand Rapids (AHL) or Detroit next year.

Riley Barber

2021 Team: Grand Rapids (AHL)
Age: 27
GP: 32
G: 20
A: 14
PTS: 34
Riley Barber was a free agent signing in 2020.  He scored at will in the AHL last year, but somehow failed to earn a call-up to Detroit.  He is Detroit property for one more season and then Barber can become an UFA.
