The Detroit Red Wings have been trying to stockpile skilled forwards through the draft. This has been necessary because of a lack of scoring depth at the NHL level. Detroit only scored 127 goals in the most recent shortened schedule. Injuries to key players also helped contribute to the paltry number of goals scored in 2021.
