Team Rookie Of The Year: Michael Rasmussen

A lot of hype has been circulating around rookie Filip Zadina who will start his season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey Leauge.  Zadina will be playing for the Detroit Red Wings at some point this season, but big Ras will have a head start.

Michael Rasmussen will start the season off by playing the wing alongside veteran Frans Nielsen rather than his natural center position. This will help the young forward make the transition from junior hockey to the pros.  Rasmussen will see time on one of the Detroit Red Wings power play units allowing him a regular opportunity to achieve points.

I have the big 6’6 Canadian born forward around 16 goals and 20 assists this season totaling 36 points.  It might seem a little conservative but remember he is 19 years old playing for a coach who loves to roll the veteran players rather than the youngsters.
