A two-goal second period helped lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

The win was highlighted by Henrik Zetterberg’s 335th career goal which ties him for fifth all-time in goals scored for the Red Wings with the great Ted Lindsay.

Game Timeline

Danny DeKeyser scored first for the Red Wings at the 15:41 mark of the first period. Dylan Larkin found the defenseman wide open in the slot as DeKeyser dispatched his fifth goal of the season.

Noah Hanifin tied things up in the second period with a top-shelf snipe past Jimmy Howard. Victor Rask had the assist.

The Red Wings would answer with two goals in less than three minutes. Zetterberg redirected a Gustav Nyquist shot to make it 2-1 at the 13:22 mark of the second period.

Trevor Daley put one in top shelf at the 16:04 mark for a 3-1 lead entering the third period.

Neither team was able to score in the third as the Red Wings defeated the Hurricanes for the second time this season.
