The Detroit Red Wings concluded their four-game road trip with a 6-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday at T-Mobile Arena.

A massive offensive night from the Red Wings led the away side to a big victory against the Golden Knights.

How it Happened

The Red Wings scored their earliest goal of the season in the first period as Gustav Nyquist put home a beautiful pass from Henrik Zetterberg. Nyquist’s goal came just one minute and 38 seconds into the game.

A lull in goal scoring would be erased by Jonathan Marchessault of the Golden Knights. The forward was left wide open and blasted home a goal from close range to make it 1-1 mid-way through the second period.

Henrik Zetterberg would then take advantage of a one v. one opportunity to put the Wings back on top. The veteran made a fantastic move on the goaltender and registered his third goal of the season.

Despite Zetterberg’s goal, the Golden Knights would rally to take the lead at the second intermission. James Neal and Erik Haula would score back-to-back goals in less than two minutes to make it 3-2 at the break.

The third period has been very good to the Red Wings thus far and Friday night was no different as they would score four goals in the final period.

Anthony Mantha would get things started with a nice finish from close range and then Frans Nielsen would take advantage of a two v. one situation to make it 4-3. Zetterberg would record assists on both goals to put his point total for the night at four.

Gustav Nyquist and Luke Glendening would add insurance goals later in the period to put the result beyond any doubt as it finished 6-3.
