The Detroit Red Wings claimed their first victory of the preseason with a 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena.

In the first official hockey game at Little Caesars Arena, the Red Wings were victorious. It was a fine offensive performance as they put five goals past the Bruins en route to their first win of the preseason.

How it Happened

For the fourth straight game, the Red Wings conceded the first goal. Austin Czarnik recorded his second goal of the preseason to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.

The second period was when the Wings pulled away from the visitors. Martin Frk scored the first Red Wings goal in Little Caesars Arena after he received a nice pass from Anthony Mantha. Dylan Larkin would also record an assist on the goal as well.

Following Frkโ€™s goal, the Wings would score three goals in less than three minutes. Frans Nielsen would score back-to-back goals and Darren Helm would snipe one past the goaltender to make it 4-1 after two periods of play.

Only one goal would be tallied in the third period as Frk blasted home a power play goal for his second of the game.
