There’s still plenty happening in the offseason this week. The development camp is on the horizon and  Grand Rapids Griffins head coach, Todd Nelson, is waiting to hear back from the Arizona Coyotes.

One of the biggest stories is Tomas Tatar revealing what his demands are for a contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings. The Detroit Free Press reported the following.

"Negotiations with forward Tomas Tatar may not be as easy. Tatar is likely to file for arbitration unless a deal gets done by Wednesday. Tatar is looking for term and in the $5 million range."

Stay tuned for news regarding the signings of Tatar and Andreas Athanasiou as the week progresses.

Drew Miller on the Way Out

After seven seasons with the Red Wings, Miller appears to be on his way out of the organization. Currently, a free agent, the former Michigan State player will likely not be re-signed by the Wings. He talked to the Detroit Free Press about this past season,

"“For me, I was there (in Grand Rapids) just for a little bit, and it wasn’t where I wanted to be, but I’m just happy for them,” he said. “It’s great to win and (winning) helps along in your career, so hopefully, that helps those guys in their careers."

Nelson Still Waiting

Mlive.com is reporting that Nelson is yet to hear back from the Coyotes about potentially becoming the head coach of the Western Conference team. He is expected to run the development camp this coming weekend in Traverse City.

"“I talked to Nelly’s agent yesterday,” said Ryan Martin, who is attending the AHL general managers meetings in Hilton Head, S.C. “They hadn’t heard anything back from Arizona yet. I texted Nelly this morning and he replied back ‘I haven’t heard anything yet."
