Detroit Red Wings: Analyzing the 2017-18 Schedule in November

The Detroit Red Wings face another tough road trip in November but return home for a long stretch of games to finish off the month.
October is going to be a travel-heavy month for the Red Wings, and November starts off with a four-month Canadian road trip. They will face the Ottawa Senators, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and Calgary Flames to start off the month. By the end of the trip, the Wings will have played 12 away games in the season.
This will be an interesting stretch of the schedule for the Red Wings as they could be prone to dropping lots of points on the road if it doesn’t go well.
On a positive note, following the trip to Canada, the Wings will come home for a five-game homestand beginning with a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Connor McDavid and the Oilers will visit Litte Caesars Arena during the homestand as fans get to watch one of the National Hockey League’s most exciting players.
A brief trip to the Big Apple on Nov. 24 to face the New York Rangers will then see the Red Wings finish the month off with a three-game home stretch.
The Red Wings will need some big points from this stretch of five consecutive games at home. It’s unlikely they will come out of their slate of away games with many points. The best result from this month is that the Red Wings will at least win five of the eight home games. Three wins on the road would be a big result as well. This will be a season where the team will have to grind out results for points.
In total, November will feature eight home games and five away games.
