Longtime National Hockey League player, Jaromir Jagr, is on the hunt for his next team as he once again enters free agency.

According to EPSN, Jagr has not received any phone calls from teams looking to sign him in the upcoming free agency window.

"“Jagr said he hasn’t gotten any feelers from clubs and that no team has taken his calls, either. He said that everywhere he looks, he’s seeing that free agents have gotten inquiries from 10 teams or more.”"

The veteran player even took to social media to explain his current situation.

Jagr is 45, which is well above the curve in terms of career length in the NHL. However, he has still been able to produce at a high level. He played in all 82 games in the 2016-17 season with the Florida Panthers and finished with 46 points.

Thus far in his career, the Czech forward has played for eight different NHL teams, including six in the past 10 years. Jagr has the second most points in NHL history.

As crazy as it may sound, Jagr might actually be as productive of a forward the Red Wings may find in free agency. The last two seasons he’s played in nearly every game and his production last season would have put him in a tie for third in scoring on the Wings roster.

It’s hard to tell when exactly Jagr plans on retiring as there was lots of speculation on whether the 2016-17 season would be his last. So, it is a bit of a gamble offering him a contract and he probably won’t be offered anything longer than one-year at this point in his career.

Next: Dan Girardi to the Red Wings?

Some Red Wings fans are calling for the signing of the NHL legend. He would certainly add to the excitement of the season with the new arena being christened. Maybe Ken Holland will throw a curve ball and give Jagr the call he has been waiting for.
