The National Hockey League Draft will take place on Friday night and the big question is, who will the Detroit Red Wings take in the first round?
NHL Draft
On Friday, June 23, the NHL Draft will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the United Airlines Center in Chicago, IL. The Red Wings will have the ninth overall pick in the draft and could be on the hunt for these three players. NBCSN will televise the entire first round.
The Red Wings remaining 10 picks will come on Saturday for rounds two through seven. That portion of the draft will be broadcasted on the NHL Network beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Nelson to Arizona?
Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada suggested that Grand Rapids Griffins Head Coach Todd Nelson could be a candidate for the Arizona Coyotes head coaching job. The Coyotes former coach, Dave Tippet, agreed to part ways with the Western Conference organization.

The Red Wings full 2017-18 season schedule was released on Thursday. A couple of highlights on the schedule include the return of the New Year’s Eve game and 17 weekend home games. Here are five games we think you should circle on your calendar.
Red Wings Home Opener Makes Top 10 Games of 2017-17 Season
NHL.com has listed the Red Wings home opener against the Minnesota Wild as one of the must-watch games of the regular-season. It will be the first regular-season NHL game played at the Little Caesars Arena.
