It was a memorable night at Van Andel Arena on Tuesday night as the Grand Rapids Griffins won the Calder Cup in front of a sold out crowd.

A, 4-3, comeback win over the Syracuse Crunch concluded a terrific postseason run by the Griffins. Martin Frk’s third-period goal with less than 10 minutes to play was the game-winning goal and Tyler Bertuzzi did his part as well as the forward was named the MVP of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

This is the second time the Griffins have won the Calder Cup in the last five seasons. They claimed the title in 2013, which was also the first in the team’s history.
