Two of the Top Teams in Salary Cap Era
Sportsnet compiled a list of the top 10 teams of the salary cap era in the National Hockey League. The Red Wings had two teams named to the list which was the 2007-08 and 2005-06 teams. Second place was where Sportsnet had the 2007-08 team and the 2005-06 team was 10th.
Here were the top 10 teams.

Penguins Win the Stanley Cup
The Pittsburgh Penguins claimed the Stanley Cup on Sunday night as they defeated the Nashville Predators in Game Six. With the result, the Penguins become the first team to win the Cup back-to-back since the Red Wings did so in the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
Additionally, the Penguins surpassed the Red Wings as the NHL team with the most Stanley Cups since 1991.
100-1 Odds
It’s not looking good for the Red Wings chances of winning the Stanley Cup this upcoming season as they received 100-1 odds to win the Cup from Las Vegas. Read more here.
