Anthony Mantha
2014-15 Goals: N/A
Likelihood it happens in 2015-16: There’s Potential
Why it will happen: Mantha needs to be mentioned in this group, given the gravity of attention he’s received over the last year. He struggled last season after breaking his leg in September, and Jim Devellano threw him under the bus shortly thereafter. Yes, Mantha averaged over two points per game in the QMJHL, but seriously folks, the soaring high expectations were a bit ridiculous for a 20-year-old kid, especially when you consider Darren McCarty had 127 points in 65 games with Belleville in 1991-92. Mantha has talent, and if he gets a shot with the Wings under Blashill he could open some eyes.
