Detroit Red Wings Training Camp Roster

Detroit Red Wings Training Camp opens today – September nineteenth – and runs until Tuesday, September twenty-third at Centre I.C.E. in Traverse City, Michigan.

Daniel Alfredsson will not attend Training Camp because of his back injury flaring back up, but Aaron Rome, Joe Hicketts, Ty Stanton, Blake Clarke, Hayden Hodgson, Darby Llewellyn, Brandon Robinson, Jerome Verrier, Mark Zengerle, and Lucas Peressini will be attending as camp invites.

Anthony Mantha, who was expecting to get a long look during Training Camp is out due to his broken fibia, which will open a spot for Mitch Callahan and Andrej Nestrasil to receive a longer look because neither player can be sent down to the AHL without clearing waivers next season.

The Detroit Red Wings are splitting up the roster into three teams during Training Camp: Team Delvecchio, Team Howe, and Team Lindsay.

Pavel Datsyuk will be playing alongside Darren Helm with Team Delvecchio in Training Camp and hopefully during the regular season, but he lost an important winger, as well.

Henrik Zetterberg will be playing on Team Howe and most likely centering his own line, which could mean Riley Sheahan or Stephen Weiss are going to be moved to the wing or it could mean nothing and when the season rolls around they will be playing with each other again.

On defense, Danny DeKeyser is on the same team as Jakub Kindl and Brian Lashoff, Kyle Quincey and Brendan Smith are together, and Niklas Kronwall and Jonathan Ericsson are on the same team. This is probably a look at how the defensive lines shake out when the season starts and it is exactly how the line-up on defense was last season.
