Detroit Red Wings Links: World Junior Summer Showcase Update

The World Junior Summer Showcase got underway on Saturday in Plymouth, Michigan.

There were two games that started off the event at USA Hockey Arena. In the first game, Team USA White defeated Finland. The last game of the day ended in a 4-3 win for Sweden over Team USA Blue.

Game 2

Keith Petruzzelli and Gustave Lindstrom saw playing time for their respective countries. Petruzzelli had 18 saves on 21 shots faced and Lindstrom finished minus one.

Detroit Red Wings Prospect Kasper Kotkansalo was on the score sheet for Finland in the first game of the afternoon. He finished plus one on with one shot on goal. Additionally, he picked up two penalty minutes.

NHL Draft to Dallas

Dallas will host the 2018 NHL Entry Level for the first time in franchise history. The event will be held at American Airlines Arena and will take place on June 22-23.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to defensemen Xavier Ouellet!

Red Wings legend Ted Lindsay also was born on July 29th. Happy 92nd Birthday to Mr.Lindsay!

Toledo Walleye Captain Will Be Returning

The captain of the Walleye, Alden Hirschfeld, will be returning to the lineup this season for the ECHL team after agreeing to terms on a new deal. In the 2016-17 season, the 29-year-old forward had 49 points in 55 appearances. More info can be found here.
