Since the NHL Trade Deadline (Feb. 29) is almost among us, we start to think about who we would like to see donning the Winged Wheel. Even if it is a little far-fetched. These are the players we believe would fit in with the present Detroit team.

“This is a tricky one because there are so many different skaters out there who’d fit into Blashill’s system. If I had to pick though, I’d happily watch the Sedins playing for Detroit. Yes, technically they’re two separate people but whatever, this is fantasy.

There’s not much going on in Vancouver right now to get excited about, but the twins are the exception. They play so well together that there isn’t a team in the league which wouldn’t benefit from having the twins on the roster.

As a pair, the twins have collected 87 points so far this season. Imagine that on our team. Of course the Canucks would collapse without them, but I’m fine with that. The added benefit of having both Daniel and Henrik is that if one gets injured (likely) then we’ve still got the other. Sure it’s a big hit on the salary cap, but I’m sure we can find $14 million somewhere.

Alright, probably not. We’d have to drop at least Datsyuk and Howard to get both the twins. Maybe we’ll just settle for one. Daniel gets the nod for that, he has better production and is healthier than his brother. What do you think? Can you see one (or maybe both) Sedins sporting the Winged Wheel?”
