Former Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios will be an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

The Red Wings players might not be representing their countries at the Olympics but at least an alumni will give the organization some representation at the Games.

Chelios was named as an assistant on Friday and will help lead the American side alongside head coach Tony Granato who is a former Red Wings assistant coach.

This won’t be Chelios’ first appearance at the Olympics, he appeared with Team USA at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Olympic Games and won a silver medal in 2002 in Salt Lake City.
