With the 136th pick in the 2014 NHL Draft the Detroit Red Wings selected Thomas (Chase) Perry a goaltender out of the NAHL.
After picking three straight centermen, the Detroit Red Wings decided to take an American goaltender from the Wenatchee Wild.
Chase Perry has good size for a goaltender at 6’2″ and 175 pounds and great flexibility to compliment his size.
He has good movement side-to-side and does a great job at cutting down the shooting angles.
Chase Perry posted a 2.34 goals against average, two shut outs and a save percentage of .905 in 2048 minutes on the ice with the Wild.
Chase Perry has committed to play for Colorado College, the same school that produced former Detroit Red Wings’ goaltender Eddie Mio.
It will be a long road for Perry, but he was ranked as eight best North American Goaltender in the draft.
