Four Detroit Red Wings saw action in day thirteen of the 2014 World Championship in Minsk, Belarus.
Danny DeKeyser and Justin Abdelkader was on the ice for USA, Gustav Nyquist was on the ice Sweden, and Jakub Kindl was on the ice Czech Republic. Tomas Tatar and Slovakia were knocked out of the tournament in the preliminary round.
USA was up against the Czech Republic at 9:45 a.m., while Sweden battled Belarus at 1:45 p.m.
USA vs Czech Republic
Justin Abdelkader had 8:19 minutes of ice time, registered one shot on net, and finished the game with 27 minutes in penalties. Abdelkader was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for charging Sobotka in the second period and it changed the entire game around for the US.
Danny DeKeyser had 20:29 minutes of ice time, registered on shot, and had an even rating. DeKeyser played the second most minutes in the second period as USA was trying to kill Abdelkader’s five-minute major.
Jakub Kindl had 18:48 minutes of ice time, placed zero shots on net, sat in the box for two minutes, and was a minus one in the victory.
USA lost to the Czech Republic 4-3.
Sweden vs Belarus
Gustav Nyquist had 15:44 minutes of ice time, placed two shots on net, and was even in the game. Nyquist was named the best player of the game for Sweden.
Sweden beat Belarus 3-2.

The semi-finals begin on May, 24th and Gustav Nyquist and Sweden will play Russia, while Jakub Kindl and the Czech Republic will face Finland.
