Day Six: Detroit Red Wings At The 2014 World Championship

Two Detroit Red Wing saw action in day six of the 2014 World Championship in Minsk, Belarus.

Jakub Kindl was on the ice for the Czech Republic and Tomas Tatar was on the ice for Slovakia. Justin Abdelkader and Danny DeKeyser with USA and Gustav Nyquist with Sweden had the day off.

The Czech Republic was up against Italy and Slovakia battled Norway.

Czeck Republic vs Italy

Jakub Kindl had 19:07 minutes of ice time, placed three shots on net, and was a plus two in the game. Kindl has really stepped up his performances for the Czechs in his past two games and saying he was the second best defenseman for the Czech Republic would not be a stretch.

If Kindl can keep playing well for the Czechs, then he might be able to save his future in Detroit.

The Czech Republic beat Italy 2-0.

Slovakia vs Norway

Tomas Tatar had 17:07 minutes of ice time, pick up a goal, an assist, and was a plus three in the game. Tatar was a force for Slovakia and every time he hit the ice he created opportunities for himself and his teammates. He scored by driving the net and getting a tip and he set up Miklik for a goal in the third.

Tatar played in every situation for Slovakia; he was on the penalty kill, getting his stick and body in the passing/shooting lanes, and power play, making gorgeous passes and taking shots when the chances arisen.

At the end of the game Tomas Tatar was chosen as the Best Player for Slovakia, an honor he truly deserved.

Slovakia bested Norway 5-2.
