Two Detroit Red Wings saw action in day three of the 2014 World Championship in Minsk, Belarus.
For the second time two Detroit Red Wings were matched up against each other as Sweden battled the Czech Republic.
Sweden vs Czech Rebublic
Gustav Nyquist had a solid game for Sweden in his second World Championship game and ended the game with 16:47 minutes played, and even rating, and two shots on net. Nyquist was not able to record a goal in his second game, but continued to provide great pressure for Sweden and impressive passes, one of which resulted in a great chance for Sweden. Unlike game one, he did see time at the end of the game and played almost a full minute in the overtime.
Jakub Kindl played the fifth highest time on ice minutes for the Czechs with 20:06, picked up two shots on net, and was a plus one in the game. Kindl was on the ice for two of Sweden’s goals, one on the power play, but neither of the players that scored were Kindl’s man. Even with the positives he still did not have a great game, he gave the puck up too often and is still a liability on defense.
Sweden ended up beating the Czech Republic 4-3 in the shootout.
