Moment #4: Tomas Tatar Honoring Father
On January 12th, the Los Angeles Kings hosted the Wings at the Staple Center during a crucial California road trip for a team struggling for playoff hopes. Young Slovakian forward Tomas Tatar had lost his father due to illness earlier in the week. Tomas poured his heart out on the ice, tallying a crucial goal and assist to earn his team two points. After putting a puck in the net, Tatar skated towards center ice, removed his right glove, kissed his hand and pointed towards the sky in homage to his father, and was ambushed by several hugs and celebratory acts by his teammates. The salutation to his father made Tomas an overnight heartwarming hometown hero and overall adored NHLer.
