When And Where To Watch The Red Wings In The Olympics

It’s time for some good news, bad news. We’ll start with the bad: there are only a couple of games left until we have to suffer through an 18-day span with no Detroit Red Wings games.

Of course the good news is that there will be plenty of top-notch hockey during that time thanks to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The Red Wings were among the league leaders with 10 players selected to represent their respective countries at the Games, though the recent concussion suffered by Johan Franzen has reduced that number by one (unless Gustav Nyquist is selected to replace him, in which case never mind).

Since the Olympics are being held several time zones ahead in Russia and being covered by the entire NBC family of cable channels, it’s going to take some planning to watch all the Detroit players live. As a public service, we decided to break it all down for you to lay out exactly when and where the Red Wings players will be in action in Sochi.

Without further ado, here are the relevant dates, times and channels for the national teams with a Detroit presence (all times Eastern). We’ll  update the later rounds when the teams advance… or not:
