Zetterberg Bobblehead Night | Detroit Red Wings vs Dallas Stars

The Detroit Red Wings take on the Jim Nill’s Dallas Stars tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Red Wings are coming off of a successful road trip, but after losing to the Jets they will be looking to have a good game at home to offset the loss. If the Wings want to have a change at winning tonight’s game they will have to limit the opponent’s shots on net and limit their turnovers.

Dallas made some big moves in the off-season by bringing in head coach Lindy Ruff, and forwards Shawn Horcoff and Tyler Seguin to compliment Jamie Benn. Kari Lehtonen has been a monster in net for the Stars and the Wings will have their work cut to to beat him, but they have the skill to do so.

Projected Line-up

Forwards

Henrik Zetterberg – Pavel Datsyuk – Todd Bertuzzi

Daniel Cleary – Stephen Weiss – Daniel Alfredsson

Justin Abdelkader – Joakim Andersson – Tomas Tatar

Drew Miller – Darren Helm – Mikael Samuelsson

Defensemen

Danny DeKeyser – Niklas Kronwall

Jakub Kindl – Kyle Quincey

Adam Almquist – Brian Lashoff

Goaltender

Jimmy Howard

Jordin Tootoo was placed on waivers by the Red Wings yesterday and will either clear or be picked up by noon today. Jordin Tootoo cleared waivers today.

The defense seemed to crumble against the Jets and tonight the pressure on Danny DeKeyser and Niklas Kronwall not to slip up again.

Adam Almquist had an unlucky first game with the Red Wings and received a lot of flack for his play despite the fact that the rest of the team did not help him out very much. He did see some time on the Red Wings second power play unit, but was not able to get a shot off.

Mikael Samuelsson returns to the line-up tonight and will take over the point on the power play from Almquist.

Petr Mrazek was sent down to Grand Rapids so he could receive playing time, because of that Jared Coreau was re-called by the team to back-up Howard.

The fact that the Wings sent done Mrazek means the Wings expect Jonas Gustavsson to return from his injury soon.

Johan Franzen will miss his second game in a row due to illness, but he did practice with the team yesterday.

Prediction: The Red Wings return home to look for a win against the Stars, but with the way they played against the Jets I do not see that happening tonight. 2-1 Dallas victory.
