If you were not aware, October is is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it is the time when Professional and Semi-Professional teams augment their uniforms to include pink.

There have been some truly disastrous moments like when the Plymouth Whalers’ pink jerseys back in 2009, they even had the referees join in, or the pink penalty flags NFL officials were using just last week, which cause a lot of confusion on the field.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Jimmy Howard decided to debut a new mask with the pink ribbon on it and pink pads to fill out the design. There will be no change to the Red Wing’s uniform as they plan to wear their regular red home jerseys.

Howard plans to wear the helmet and pads in two games this month and then the helmet will be auctioned off to help a local cancer organizations.

According to Helene St. James, “[Howard] isn’t sure whether he’ll have time to break in pads.”

While he might not have time to break in the pads for Saturday’s game against the Flyers, he should have enough time to break them in for the next game in which he plans to wear them.

Get ready Philadelphia Flyers because Jimmy Howard and his pink equipment are going to be standing in your way come game time.

I love the pink equipment that Jimmy has decided to don on Saturday, but how do you feel about Jimmy Howard’s pink equipment?
