2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Game 7 - Red Wings Must Break Chicago

The Detroit Red Wings face-off against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

This is it for the Red Wings, they must win tonight to move to the Western Conference Finals. The Wings have to create sustained pressure in the Blackhawks zone, which they have not been able to do consistently.

Joel Quenneville will be keeping Jonathan Toews away from Henrik Zetterberg again tonight, that means Pavel Datsyuk will have to keep Toews off of the board and Zetterberg will have to take advantage of the match up.

Projected Line-up

Forwards

Johan Franzen – Pavel Datsyuk – Justin Abdelkader

Valtteri Filppula – Henrik Zetterberg – Daniel Cleary

Gustav Nyquist – Joakim Andersson  Damien Brunner

Drew Miller – Cory Emmerton – Patrick Eaves

Defensemen

Niklas Kronwall – Jonathan Ericsson

Brendan Smith  Kyle Quincey

Jakub Kindl  Carlo Colaiacovo

Goaltender

Jimmy Howard

Brendan Smith needs to have a good game today and play smart.

There is a lot to like from Joakim Andersson and the rookie line in this series, but tonight is the night for them to shine.

All of Detroit’s scoring is coming from secondary players, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Franzen have to get on the board tonight.

Jimmy Howard has been good these past couple days, but he has to dominate between the pipes if the Red Wings want a win.

Prediction: No prediction today, the Red Wings just have to win.
