2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Game 6 - It Is The Red Wings Time

The Detroit Red Wings face-off against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT in Joe Louis Arena.

Detroit is coming off an embarrassing effort in Game Five and if they want to end the series tonight, they will have to step up their game. Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, and Johan Franzen will have to put points on the board, while the third and fourth lines will have to out work the Hawks.

The Blackhawks took the play to the Wings in game five and will try to do the same today. The Wings have to out hustle and be more physical that the Hawks. Jonathan Toews broke out in game five and Henrik Zetterberg will be tasked with putting him back in the bottle tonight.

Projected Line-up

Forwards

Johan Franzen – Pavel Datsyuk – Justin Abdelkader

Valtteri Filppula – Henrik Zetterberg – Daniel Cleary

Gustav Nyquist – Joakim Andersson  Damien Brunner

Drew Miller – Cory Emmerton – Patrick Eaves

Defensemen

Niklas Kronwall – Jonathan Ericsson

Brendan Smith  Kyle Quincey

Jakub Kindl  Carlo Colaiacovo

Goaltender

Jimmy Howard

The Red Wings have to help out Jimmy Howard tonight, he has been left on an island too much this series.

Johan Franzen has not been his dominate self this playoffs and will need to step it up tonight.

The special teams will have to be better tonight as well, Chicago scored twice on the power play and the Wings had none.

Al Sobotka was talking about swinging the octopus in game four, but I think it work well for what the Red Wings have to do in today’s game. Hit them and make Chicago get out of the way.

“You’d better get out of the way,” Sobotka said, “or you’re going to get hit.”

Wisely, Keith thought, “So, I was like, ‘Alright, I better get out of the way then.’ ”

Prediction: There is no way the Red Wings come out with a poor effort for two games in a row. Red Wings victory 3-1.
