Highlights - 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Game 5 - Detroit Red Wings vs Chicago Blackhawks

The Detroit Red Wings still have a 3-2 series lead against the Chicago Blackhawks, but were not able to end the series last night.

Daniel Cleary tied up the game in the second period, but the Wings were not able to do anything with it. From start to finish the Red Wings gave a poor effort and the Blackhawks took advantage of it. Nothing positive came out of game five and they need to regain their composer, which they lost in game five.

Joel Quenneville kept Jonathan Toews away from Henrik Zetterberg and it worked wonders for the Blackhawks. I expect Mike Babcock to pit Zetterberg against Toews in game six.

Aaron Ward gave Brendan Smith some credit for his play in this series and last night you saw him join the rush on Cleary’s goal.

Overall, though, he did not have a good game last night, but no Red Wing did.

The Red Wings have a chance to end the series in Detroit and oust the Hawks from the playoffs, but to do that they will have to play much better.

The Red Wings face-off against the Blackhawks on Monday, May 27th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. For the full schedule visit our Playoff Schedule Page.
